As you can see, in the events where medals are determined by competitors rather than judges, the gold medal gap between China and the U.S. is greatly narrowed, and the total medal count is an American runaway. Counting the judged events, China has a commanding lead in golds. Hmmm… Nope, nothing fishy about that!

Earthenmus

It’s sad to think about the reality of life these days. Hundreds of millions of people around this planet called Earth have a loss of hope. People have nothing to look forward to except the eventual demise of their own life. Debt continues to pile up; health continues to deteriorate; people they once called friends have broken off contact because they moved to acquire a new job position that would offer more benefits. I feel as if the whole sum of life has become nothing more than working just to give other people the chance at freeing themselves from this. Where has the adventure gone? Where is the excitement? What has happened to the actual enjoyment of God’s Earth?

In our faced paced society, it is hard to think about people groups that know nothing of cars, cell phones, clothes or packaged food. These people live off of the land and have never heard of Picasso, Shakespeare or Beethoven.

Maybe I’m confused here, but l have grown up in America and for the past 3 decades I have always understood democracy as, “The peoples vote decides the outcome” in, well, voting. Apparently that is not the case because even though the registered voters in California had the majority vote to put a ban on gay marriage it got overturned, not by thousands of men, but by 7 men. This isn’t logically sound. According to this thinking, if the whole state of Texas, meaning 100% of the registered voters, were to vote that they wanted to outlaw the death penalty and 7 judges said no we don’t want that and don’t care what the other 20 million people think, that it would be considered okay. It’s not okay! Regardless of the issue I believe that the voters should decide what is right, not what 7 pompous, rich and arrogant judges think.

The 20th century gave rise to one of the greatest and most distressing paradoxes of human history: that the greatest intolerance and violence of that century were practiced by those who believed that religion caused intolerance and violence.
