King of Kong Review

If you grew up playing games like pacman, donkey kong and space invaders praying to the geek gods to be on the cover of nintendo monthly as the video gamer of the year, this movie is for you. This documentary is great at showing the pros and cons of competive gaming on first gen arcade games. It also shows the shady and contriversial side of Twin Galaxies, the authority of world record keeping. Not everyone will like this documentary, but if you like seeing underogs rise to the top then check it out.

Speed Racer Review

It may come as no surprise to some, but I thought this was one of the best movies I have seen this year. Of course, not all the critics share my sense of connection to this movie, but what do they know? The simple fact is that I rate movies based on how I connect with the characters and in this movie I was wanting to sit in the passenger seat with Speed so I might be able to join in the plight against villainy. Yet, not all people will enjoy this movie. It is slow at times and focuses more on the character devolpment rather than flashy action at every turn. However, if you enjoy the, “hero” overcoming all adversity and going up against all odds then you will enjoy this movie as well, despite what the nay sayers say.
